Dr. Sara Ahmadi is a writer, scholar, and cultural critic whose work centers on the Kurdish diaspora experience in North America. Born in Sulaymaniyah and raised in Toronto, she holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Toronto and has spent the last fifteen years documenting the lives of Kurdish writers, artists, and activists across the diaspora.
Her scholarly articles have appeared in journals such as Diaspora Studies, Middle Eastern Literatures, and the Journal of Kurdish Studies. She is a frequent contributor to literary magazines and has lectured at universities across Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
When she is not writing or teaching, Sara hosts the popular podcast ‘Voices of the Diaspora,’ where she interviews Kurdish writers from around the world.
